Publishing Framework
Noble Legacy Publishing is an independent UK imprint operating under a structured assisted publishing arrangement. We work with authors who have completed manuscripts and seek publication under an established imprint with defined editorial standards.
This framework outlines how the imprint operates and the conditions under which work is considered for publication.
Identity and Selectivity
Noble Legacy operates as a selective imprint. Manuscripts are assessed individually before any publishing engagement is confirmed. Acceptance is not automatic, and financial commitment alone does not determine whether a work proceeds under the imprint.
Editorial standards, legal considerations, and reputational alignment inform each decision. This selectivity preserves the integrity of the imprint and the credibility of the works it publishes.
Editorial Review
Manuscripts are reviewed for structural readiness, editorial quality, and compliance with applicable legal standards.
Assignment of a Noble Legacy ISBN remains at the discretion of the imprint, and acceptance for editorial services does not guarantee publication under a Noble Legacy ISBN.
Where legal, ethical, or reputational concerns arise, the imprint may decline or discontinue publication.
Publisher of Record
Where a Noble Legacy ISBN is assigned, the imprint is listed as publisher of record within recognised bibliographic systems, including Nielsen Book Data and the British Library.
Publisher-of-record status relates to bibliographic registration and statutory obligations. It does not alter copyright ownership.
ISBN allocation is confirmed in writing on a project-by-project basis.
Copyright and Rights
Authors retain full copyright ownership of their work.
Under the standard publishing arrangement, Noble Legacy does not acquire publishing rights, subsidiary rights, or copyright interest unless explicitly agreed in a separate written contract.
Control of future exploitation remains with the author.
Royalty Position
All retail royalties generated through third-party platforms are paid directly to the author.
Noble Legacy does not collect, hold, or distribute royalties on behalf of authors. No revenue share applies under the standard publishing structure.
Distribution Structure
Distribution is facilitated through established third-party retail and print-on-demand platforms.
Platform accounts remain under the author’s ownership and financial control. Where authorised, Noble Legacy may assist with initial configuration and metadata preparation.
Financial transactions and royalty withdrawals remain the responsibility of the author.
Author Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for delivering completed manuscripts that comply with copyright law, defamation standards, and applicable legal requirements.
The inclusion of third-party material or personal data must be lawfully authorised. Moreover, editorial review does not transfer legal responsibility for the underlying content.
Marketing and commercial performance remain outside the imprint’s control unless separately agreed.
Fees and Agreements
Noble Legacy operates on a defined fee-for-service basis. Fees are quoted individually and confirmed through written agreement before work commences.
All engagements are governed by formal documentation setting out scope, responsibilities, and payment terms.
Agreements and Documentation
All publishing services are governed by written agreements executed before work commences. These agreements define scope, responsibilities, timelines, and payment terms.
Authors are advised to review agreements carefully and seek independent advice where appropriate.
Standards and Accountability
Where Noble Legacy acts as publisher of record, it accepts the responsibilities associated with bibliographic registration and statutory deposit.
Works that present legal, ethical, or reputational risk will not be published under the imprint.
This framework reflects the standards applied to every project considered for publication under the Noble Legacy name.
